  • Enrollment into a school either running an academic program, full-time or part-time program, a non-academic program, or a language training program.
  • Acceptance into a school that has gained the approval of the Student & Exchange Visitors. Program and/or the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
  • Proficiency in English or enrollment in a course of study that will lead to English proficiency.
  • Proper ties to your home country.
  • Enough funds to support your living till the end of your course of study.
  • Promise to return home once you are done.

 

The documents you would for the application of your United States student visa will mostly include:

  • A valid passport that will still be valid for at least six more months after your stay in the United States.
  • Evidence of Acceptance at a Student & Exchange Visitor Program approved school and your Form I-20.
  • Evidence of Payment for the Student & Exchange Visitor Information System application fee.
  • Your application for a non-immigrant visa and DS-160 application form confirmation page.
  • A sufficient amount of passport photographs in the required format.

Other documents that may be required includes:

  1. Documents such as transcripts, diplomas, degrees, or certificates can also be requested as part of your Academic preparations documents.
  2. You Bank details to prove that you have enough funds to sustain you during your stay in the United States.
  3. Your Bank statements to confirm the source of income.
  4. Financial undertaking by a U.S resident to take care of your accommodation, living costs, and other expenses for the duration of your stay.
  5. A scholarship program.
  6. You must also give some sort of assurance that you will leave once you have completed your study.
  7. You may also need to appear at the U.S embassy or consulate for a personal interview.

English language requirements

You will need to provide evidence stating your proficiency in the English Language. Most educational institutes require a minimum of 6.5 bands in an IELTS exam. Showing your proficiency in English can also be done using a wide range of tests, it is just to prove your communication skills and how you come up with sound arguments.
